Honda Motorcycles
Honda's first appearance in North America was in Vancouver in 1959, there were six original dealers that took on the new brand hopeful for something different than the norm, Rex and Glenn Turple were one of those original six, and the last standing of them too, making Turple Bros. Ltd. the oldest Honda dealer in North America. 10 years after the first Honda motorcycle came to north america, Honda Canada was formed. Throughout the years we have seen a lot of Honda Motorcycles come through our doors from the iconic CB750 (in our main logo) to the race winning CBR lineup, the new and old Africa Twin, the king of touring bikes, the Goldwing, and so many more. We always look forward to see what Honda Motorcycles brings us next. |
12L Fuel TankWherever your adventure takes you, ride with confidence knowing that the SCL500’s stylish peanut-shaped fuel tank holds up to 12 litres |
Minimal, Informative LCD DisplayA street scrambler should keep things simple, so a neat, 100mm ring houses the negative LCD display. Information on show is just what you need, including a gear position indicator, fuel consumption and individual left/right indicator arrows. |
Natural Riding Position with Flat SeatFor easy control and turning in an urban area, the bike riding position is upright, with arms and knees placed in a comfortable, natural posture, while simultaneously offering you great all-round visibility. There's plenty of room on the flat seat to move back and forward, allowing for a more aggresive attitude. |
LED lightingRiding in low-light conditions? The bike’s LED lighting provides strong visibility while also running cooler and being more energy efficient. |
Accessible Seat HeightRiders of all different sizes and skill levels can feel comfortable on the SCL500 with its 790mm seat height. |
Power & PerformanceThe SCL500’s 471cc 8-valve, liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine is smooth, easy to use and thoroughly engaging. It features revised PGM-FI fuel injection mapping, and a new intake and exhaust setup that deliver engaging power and torque. |
Assist & Slipper Clutch ControlThe engine's clutch is designed to help you ride with confidence. It assists with a light lever load and makes for smoother, easier gear changes up and down. And you don't have to juggle engine RPM or worry about rear wheel lock-ups on multiple down changes -- the bike's slipper function handles that for you. |
Crisp AccelerationThe SCL500 engine includes a 41-tooth sprocket (one more than the Honda Rebel 500’s 40-tooth model), providing crisp acceleration through each gear. |
Balancing Size & OutputThe SCL500 packs a punch by maintaining a 67mm x 66.8mm bore and stroke, along with a 10.7:1 compression ratio – the same found in the rest of the 500 series. |
No-Nonsense, Raw & Tough StylingThe SCL500's head-turning style pays homage to the original Honda CL. |
Classic Upswept ExhaustThe SCL500 takes a key style note from classic bikes with an upswept exhaust pipe. |
Stability in Both On- and Off-Road Environments41mm telescopic front forks feature 150mm travel for supple control, along with a dose of off-road styling thanks to fork boots which also help with improved dust resistance. The rear Showa suspension delivers even more confidence from a 5-stage preload adjustment, ideal for luggage or a passenger. There's also the surefooted stability of a 19-inch front wheel, and the 310mm floating front disc and two-piston caliper ensure progressive stopping power with ABS optimised for dirt tracks as well as roads. Along with a reduction in damping for increased pitching movement, the suspension provides a more dynamic and intuitive ride experience. |
Adventure-Style TiresThe Scrambler’s versatile 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tires strike the perfect balance between on-road touring and dirt running performance. Inspired by the concept of modern adventure bikes, the tires find traction on a wide variety of surfaces, offering high-speed stability on the road, and predictable handling off-road. |
Standard ABSRiding on wet or dirty road conditions with confidence – the standard ABS helps create an optimal balance of front and rear braking forces when you’re counting on them. |
